Dungeons & Dragons Dice Masters: Faerûn Under Siege

WizKids (I) · 2016

BGG #5039
260 min7.5
Dungeons & Dragons Dice Masters: Faerûn Under Siege is a game that utilizes WizKids Games' proprietary Dice Building Game platform in which two players take the role of warlords, collect and assemble their "party" of adventurer dice and battle in head-to-head gameplay. Each turn, players roll the dice to see what resources they have available, buy dice, send their party members into the field, and then strike at the enemy warlord. There are multiple cards available for each type of die so players get to choose which one to use. This lets players specialize dice to suit play style. Additional cards and dice to expand your collection can be found in expansion packs. Each Foil Pack contains two cards and two dice that players can add to their Dice Masters Faerûn Under Siege collections. Players can create teams of their favorite fantasy characters from the Forgotten Realms universe. The Dungeons & Dragons Dice Masters line will consist of starter sets, a Collector's Box, booster packs, play mats, and a "Party" storage box.

Direwild is a fully co-operative, tactical, dungeon-crawling deck-builder. There is no dungeon master; it is purely the players vs. the game. Players assume the role of animists, heroes that can summon creatures both great and small (represented in the cards you build your deck with), then combine those creatures in unique ways. With the creatures' help, the animists strive to work as a team to defeat the evil forces of Karn. Karn was once a great animist himself, but was corrupted by his lust for greater power. Throughout the game, Karn tries to hunt the heroes and defeat them before they can grow strong enough to face him in the final showdown. The game is split into three chapters, with a "game save" mechanism to allow for the packing and saving of the game between game nights. The game also includes treasure, magic, unlockable upgrades, boss fights, a large pool of minions to randomly face each playthrough, over 130 creatures, and ten unique heroes!

Diatoms is a puzzly tile-placement and pattern-making game in which players create their own microscopic mosaic, based on an obscure Victorian art form. Hidden in the water all around us are tiny lifeforms known as "diatoms". These microscopic algae cells come in a variety of exquisite geometric shapes and patterns. Their outer layer is made with silica, giving them a glass-like quality. Here at the Society for the Microscopic Arts, we collect these diatoms and delicately arrange them on slides into beautiful, tiny mosaics. As part of your induction into the Society, you will each create your own entry for today's Exhibition of Microscopic Mosaics. In Diatoms, you compete with your fellow players to collect and place diatom shapes into a mosaic form. You take turns placing tiles representing algae colonies. From that placement, you earn diatoms of different colors and shapes. You then strategically place these diatoms on your personal board, taking care to consider how your arrangement will be scored at the end of the game. In the base scoring, you'll want to achieve matching colors, shape variety, and symmetry along your mosaic's central lines. Each time you play, you may also have a "guest" judge card that brings a unique scoring criterion to the game. Diatoms also includes a solo variant in which you collect diatom tiles as in the main game, while trying to create a mosaic that fulfills specific requirements from mosaic commission prompts. —description from publisher

TAC

From the publisher's website (hyperbole included): TAC - the unique combination of board game and card game - it can be called without exaggeration a small revolution in the field of tactical games. Despite simple rules each game quickly develops into an exciting challenge. The goal of two players or two teams is to be the first to bring their own balls home. But that is easier said than done, because only strong team play and forethoughted, flexible tactics pave the way to success. Perceive the plans of the opposing team and cancel them. But caution is required: it can happen that you must lose ground, although you do not want to. Finally, heavenly creatures interfere during play. A powerful warrior may step on the board and rearrange the balance of power. An angel may appear to rescue someone from great emergency - but whom? TAC is suitable both for fast, fun games and for tense, strategic, but friendly games. Each game develops differently from the last and guarantees timeless fun. Timeline: Classic

ADC Blackfire Entertainment · 2018

Timeline: Classic is a card game played using 55 cards. While other versions of Timeline are focused on certain elements (events, inventions, discoveries, etc.), Timeline Classic is a highly engaging version that encompasses multiple themes in one convenient package. Was the pencil invented before Washington crossed the Delaware? Each card depicts an invention on both sides, with the year in which that invention was created on only one side. Players take turns placing a card from their hand in a row on the table. After placing the card, the player reveals the date on it. If the card was placed correctly with the date in chronological order with all other cards on the table, the card stays in place; otherwise the card is removed from play and the player takes another card from the deck. The first player to get rid of all his cards by placing them correctly wins. If multiple players go out in the same round, then everyone else is eliminated from play and each of those players are dealt one more card for another round of play. If only one player has no cards after a bonus round, he wins; otherwise play continues until a single player goes out. Timeline: Classic can be combined with any other title in the Timeline series.
