Explore the wilds in a 2-player tile-laying simple strategic game. The closer you camp to the unexplored wilderness, the higher you'll score. Tic Tac Trek is a light strategy game. Players take turns drafting tiles from a bag to place in the shared play area. If the tile placed forms 3 in a row, the player can place one of their campfire tokens in the tile just played. Play continues until all tiles have been placed from the bag. Players will then score their campfire tokens that are in the play area. Each empty space surrounding the campfire scores 1 point. The player with the most points wins.

Following in the footsteps of the successful card driven war game systems of We the People and Hannibal: Rome vs. Carthage, Successors adds a new element in adding a multi-player dimension to the series. Players are the generals under the recently deceased Alexander the Great and recreate the civil war within the Hellenistic sphere of the middle east. The map is a point to point system, the counters are extra large and quite colorful and a deck of cards is provided that gives a refreshing twist to the typical war game. Pandora's Legacy

TED Games · 2025

BGG #5372
1–99720–900 min8.8
Pandora’s Legacy, TED-Ed’s first physical game, is an innovative experience that combines elements of jigsaw puzzles, escape rooms, puzzle hunts, and legacy board games into 12-15 hours of immersive, cooperative gameplay for 1-4 players. Assembling the jigsaw is only the beginning. To progress, you’ll need to solve puzzles found within the jigsaw, escape-room style. Some solutions will reward you with gorgeous and perplexing physical artifacts that are themselves puzzles that must be solved. Others will unlock the next set of jigsaw pieces that expand the illustration and propel the story forward. In this adventure, Pandora doesn’t just accept her fate after giving in to curiosity and opening her box; she is determined to set things right. That’s where you come in. Playing as Pandora, with the help (and hindrance) of your favorite Olympians, your mission is to corral the chaos you created when you opened the box. There's just one more problem...well, actually, 17 “problems”. Pandora’s Legacy contains 17 boxes. Box Alpha contains the pieces of the main section of the jigsaw. Once you assemble that, you’ll receive clues for solving the first puzzle hidden within the jigsaw via a companion website. Solving the puzzles unlocks more boxes. Some contain physical artifacts that are themselves puzzles. Others will reward you with more jigsaw pieces, filling in more of the illustration and advancing the narrative. The puzzles are challenging, but accessible to solvers of all experience levels. If you get stuck at any point, the in-game hint system includes more than 200 hints designed to gently nudge you in the right direction. Countless surprises await, all leading up to the climactic finale of Pandora's quest to set right the chaos she unleashed upon the world. —description from the designer

Focus

Daekor Designs · 1963

BGG #5373
2–445 min6.5
Focus (or Domination) is a Sid Sackson abstract strategy game in which players attempt to make moves and capture pieces in such a manner that their opponent(s) have no moves remaining. On a turn a player may move a piece or stack of pieces based on the number of pieces that comprise it as well as the number of pieces to be moved (e.g. 1-piece = 1 space, 3 piece stack = 3 spaces.) When a stack grows over five pieces, pieces from the bottom of the stack are removed to bring the stack back down to five. Pieces of a player's own color that are taken by that player are reserved to re-enter the game at a later time; pieces of the opponent's color are kept as captured. Reserved pieces can be entered on a turn in any space on the board in place of making a move of pieces; strategic use of reserved pieces can make the game by utilizing them to capture stacks controlled by opponent(s). Sackson includes the game In his 1969 book, A Gamut of Games. The book makes a reference to the Whitman Publishing Company production of 1965, along with reporting that the two-handed version was first described in the October 1963 issue of Scientific American Magazine.

Thesauros

Super Meeple · 2025

BGG #5374
1–445–180 min7.3
In Thesauros (meaning “Treasure” in classical Greek), you take on the role of the head of a shipwreck salvage company in search of sunken treasures. To set yourself apart from your competitors, you'll need to locate treasures lost at sea, retrieve them, and then try to sell them to the museum in order to gain profit and reputation. To achieve this, you'll need to develop technologies (which will help you on your expeditions), equip yourself, hire workers, train some of them to become true pros of their field, collect treasure maps, charter speedboats, dive in the deep sea, confront sharks, sponsor the opening of museum exhibition halls, advertise your company and, above all, manage your various bank accounts with a firm hand (and without forgetting to stash some cash in your slush fund!). Whoever gets the highest reputation by the end of 3 in-game years (9 rounds) wins the game! —description from the designer
